A well-known place for Islamic burials in Bremen is the Huckelriede cemetery Friedhof Huckelriede, which offers special burial grounds for Muslim burials. The graves are oriented in such a way that the feet of the deceased point to the northeast and the head to the southwest to pray for Mecca.
